This is YB, @stuffhedoes Leslieβs spouse. I am sad to share with you the tragic news of his passing on Monday, November 10th, aged 43. Leslie Lee III was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He left us much too soon. I appreciate your kindness at this time, while we process our grief. If you wish, you can donate directly to his gofundme linked in his profile, any later news I will post from this account. A private service for family is being held this week with a memorial service to be held at a later date in NYC. He was to me, my everything. He was an advocate for others with Long COVID. He was an amazing writer and passionate podcaster.
i'm sorry to have to relay this, but Leslie Lee III has passed away. if you can help with his family's expenses, please read on. they need the help right now.

14.11.2025 23:12 β π 19 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ultimately, public health agencies encouraging people to take whatever steps they can to improve their health will have a dramatic effect during the next pandemic. Whether simply by stopping smoking, controlling hypertension or diabetes, or getting up and walking more, anything that makes the population healthier will prepare us better for the next pandemic. The best pandemic preparedness playbook for the United States is making America healthy again.
Jay Bhattacharya's plan for a new pandemic is for everyone to suddenly be healthy.
14.11.2025 22:15 β π 338 π 75 π¬ 40 π 37It really seems like this administration is trying to eliminate the field of public health. MPHs and DrPHs will no longer be considered "professional degrees" by the DOE and, therefore, will face limits to accessing federal student loans.

If AI is inevitable then why does it need so much government support and why are they constantly worried

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.
Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!
Very glad to have a chapter in the Long COVID and Society book curated by D. Lupton.
In my chapter, I show how #LongCovid patient-driven advocacy-research was critical in 2020-1 to identifying LC as a novel multi-system disease entity, and achieving recognition from policymakers and WHO

07.11.2025 11:26 β π 19 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0We need to start calling misrepresentation of COVID-related harms as due to "lockdowns" what it is: fraud, and a breach of academic integrity.
There's room for good research, but studies that ignore direct effects and mindlessly attribute e.g. changes in mental health to mitigations are dishonest.
"Well guys, you're gonna have to learn his f*cking name now."
I went on a rant at the Zohran Mamdani event last night, against billionaires who spent millions to try and stop a guy whose name they refuse to correctly pronounce.

Abigail Spanberger ran on supporting fired federal workers and lowering the cost of living in VA.
Mikie Sherrill ran on lowering utility bills in NJ.
