Council’s new tree strategy includes focuses on climate change resilience, biodiversity
There will also be a dedicated tree page on Dublin City Council’s website, to keep residents abreast of the programmed tree works in their area, the council's tree officer said at a recent meeting.

Hi, does it use a removable key or an app?
That one scooter decided not to use it for some reason?

The pops of colour are great!
Have they yet been used in kerbside spaces of roads with different cambers?

The photo shows a Dublin street, with one and two storey city dwellings in the background. In from of a bike hangar stands Ed who was one of the trial participants.
A mix of Dublin City Council and Bleeper Active staff standing at the first BikeBunkers installed as part of the new service.
Dublin City Council's new #BikeBunker service arose from a €4,500 BETA Project.
The first BikeBunker of the new service has now been installed, with an initial target of 1,800 BikeBunker spaces.
More info at www.bikebunkers.ie or from @bleeperactive.bsky.social
Live for your bike, not with it.

Cropped map of Ireland with expressions of interest for BikeBunker spaces.
There's some additional info in the alt text. They're where people had applied for spaces within a BikeBunker - light blue looking for 1 space, dark blue 2 spaces (which was the cap).
Mapping expressions of interest in a trial is useful to give a sense of scalability and types of areas interested.

Map of wider Dublin with applications for BikeBunkers. Concentration nearer the city centre but demand throughout.
Same map panned towards DLR area.
Hi Oisín, one option could be to let people themselves decide. Even with side passages, they may have reasons to want them. Then install based on demand.

Perhaps the best analogy for #NeighbourhoodBETA is a 'vending machine for neighbourhood options'.
As new solutions get progressed, DCC would add those 'new products' to the 'vending machine' (prob a website).
Areas could easily see their options, choose for trialling, vote whether to keep or not.

Thanks. We ran some tests, learned a lot and will return to it...and need to update that project page.
It's here in the project pipeline. trello.com/b/8jXnfMIO/b...
3 projects, #NeighbourhoodBETA, #StreetMixBETA and that 'Street Priorities' project mentioned are all somewhat related.

Thanks Darragh.
Also just to note that the #BikeBunkers tender and contract was designed to enable the other 3 local authorities in Dublin to use also - saving them the procurement effort and time.
So same as #DublinCanvas, it's a solution for the Dublin Region.

Two photos in this post, taken from the same angle. This one is the After version.
The photo shows a park context.
There is a paved area in the foreground. Within it, there is a utility access cover.
Around it are white leaf stencils - remnants from the trial - which will fade.

The cooktop appliance - the trial - is in the foreground. Around it are white leaf stencils, helpful for parents when communicating with children about staying back.
The #CooktopBETA trial has now been removed from Herbert Park.
(Here's why we remove trials following the learning period dccbeta.ie/process/arti...)
We had a meeting yesterday to discuss potentially trialling it elsewhere. If you've a suggestion, please let us know! dccbeta.ie/project/arti...

Photo of a sign which reads "kinder straat!" and gives dates and times below.
Translates as
"Children Street!
24 June. 15 July. 16 September.
From 13:00 - 17:00"
Thanks!
There's actually also a specific "play street" sign in addition to that regular blue woonerf sign. Here... maps.app.goo.gl/Fba1vN9GroXm...
@bicycledutch.bsky.social @cathytuttle.bsky.social @cianginty.bsky.social Anyone know any more about whether this is a regular initiative in the NL?
