It’s just that almost everything is worse today than it was even a year ago. I hate it.

I thought I would hate Paw Patrol because it’s copaganda, but actually I hate it because it’s a very bad show.

The nonsense thing about being postpartum is that writing my next book is going really well, but I keep forgetting what day of the week it is.

I get why it happens but goddamn do I wish anything could hit as hard on the timeline as something that sucks that everyone hates written by or about the worst person you know. I wish something good or interesting was able to get anywhere near the traction some shit that sucks does.

We have a new person cleaning our house today and she found a live mouse that Brian had to trap and take to the river. I have never felt so much like a gremlin in my life.

Being very normal and looking up spring half marathons before completing a single run postpartum.

I think it would be difficult (to impossible) for him to win, but I want to know what information he has that indicates that it's worth it to run.

I'm once again begging media outlets and online posters to STOP MAKING US LOOK AT THAT AWFUL MAN'S UGLY FACE, but this time it applies to three different awful men at once

I can't believe I'm saying this, but some people running for office really should just start a podcast or something. Political positions should be reserved for masochists who know what they're talking about.

This is such an issue with outdoor spaces! Ronan can play outside for like, a thousand hours and needs to pee every 45 minutes.

There are several people in Alabama politics who continually run for office without qualification or resources and I think that these people are incredibly damaging. Jones is a legit candidate who wouldn't run unless there was a chance of winning.

I don't know if Doug Jones will win, but he's one of the few potential candidates with the resources to conduct actual polling and so I hope this means that the Republicans are cooked in 2026.

I've been watching Real Housewives of Atlanta and there's an episode where NeNe Leakes says "Stop saying that where people can hear you" about a castmate's claims and I really think people need to be told that more often.

Opinion | Mamdani’s Victory Is Less Significant Than You Think

The New York Times quickly sending out Douthat to argue that Mamdani’s victory doesn’t really matter is so predictable it borders on self-parody.

Remember, folks: Every time the Right wins an election, it’s an undeniable expression of the will of the people. If a lefty wins, it’s just a blip.

LOCAL ELECTION RESULT:

Let me congratulate @zysaidso.bsky.social for her election to the Charlottesville School Board.

For those wondering: Zyahna Bryant was a student organizer who led the successful fight in removing two confederate statues from downtown Charlottesville.

I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to make Thanksgiving & Christmas fun with a toddler, a baby, and no family in town. So far, I've only decided that I cannot cook a thing.
