I know I've put "The Patrick Star Show" on a pedestal here before, but man, the more I look at what it's been up to in contrast to the rest of the current kids' animation landscape, the more I unironically think it could live on as one of the most important US cartoons of this generation.

One of the reasons this style is around is due to its quick turnaround rate for animation. It's easier to animate, thus more episodes can be pumped out. The unfortunate part is that studios see this as the "safe" option, hence why it looks homogenized nowadays.
