Thank you! yeah this exercise of just adding to an established image is really fun, also means you gotta think about how the light will effect the new elements to it too.

A really funny way I've heard to help get rid of thoughts like that is to make a joke out of them.
Mentally hear it in the most overly stupid voice imaginable like a squeaky anime voice, helps to disassociate and see it for the lie it is.

Good morning!.
I'm visiting a con tomorrow and today eating sushi while playing Sonic Crossworlds, gonna be good!.

A photo study extended with imaginary elements. Small lizard boy with a backpack looking out at a giant sand octopus as it wraps it's tendrils around a rock.

Don't normally post studies, but this was a fun exercise I wanted to share.
Copying a photo, then extending and adding to it in different directions.

Yo this is gorgeous, amazing work for 15mins and it reads really well from a distance too.
I like the inclusion of the sea creature, I've been meaning to start adding imaginary elements to my color studies like that, it's fun and I think it can help you understand the ref better too.
