I just like giving treats! But also I'm weirdly picky about getting gifts so I just prefer spending time with people.

Honestly some of my fav gifts are Christmas cards with a personalized message. I keep those in a box ❤️.

I don't know how to not sound passive aggressive when I say that I'm absolutely getting you a Christmas gift but also you don't have to give me anything back.

Love it, get more criticism out there! Talk about what you love, what you hate, all of it.

My critic's note is meant almost as a content warning. Interact if you'd like, ignore if you don't.

My next review is going to be fairly critical, so I just want to preface by reminding people to be respectful.

Criticism isn't gossip or beef, it's about culture. It's creating a space to talk about art, build a community, and develop one's taste. Disagreement is healthy and necessary.

It's annoying that it feels like a big win when someone doesn't do something. But hey, it is a win. Backlash is not a world eater, and it can be stopped. Progress is upheld by people.

FRANKENSTEIN!!!!!!!!

Incredible adaptation. Lifts the original and transforms the story to infuse new life.

The first half is fun, a little slow. But then the monster's story starts and everything falls into place in this weird ass monsterfucker masterpiece! Jacob Elordi Oscar now!

Caleb Hearon soft launching that "Trash Mountain," is in production as if I have not been STARVING for any sort of information that it was still getting made. THANK GOD.

Daniel Craig should've gotten a nomination for his performance at the very least.

I can't stop thinking about the movie, "Queer," by Luca Guadagnino. I watched it late last year and it's slowly become one of my favs of '24. I love a broken movie that holds a lot of meaning in its missteps.

"Challengers" was a perfect but uninteresting film. "Queer" was messy and beautiful.

I went on a hike and then immediately worked a night shift. The view was beautiful, totally worth it, but I'm going to be stuck on the couch all day feeling sore in muscles I was not aware existed.

Same, it's so dense even though it's also a fairly simple plot.

Only thing I'm clear on is that Emma Stone is one of the best actors working now.

Just saw a very cool piece of art shared in a Discord server, and I wanted to share it too, but the link was to Twitter. So I found the same artist in bsky, and they haven't shared the piece here, so I ain't sharing that art after all. Artists: do better.

Whoever was the focus puller for "Bugonia" deserves an Oscar. Because that incredible cinematography would not succeed without them.

Such a tense and disgusting movie. Sick in that tightly wound way where the stakes only get worse. I don't love the ending, though it does make you think. Fun watch!
