Today I've learned about wigs. Men's wigs.
The wig offered a practical solution to a universal plague of the eighteenth century: head lice

I have learned a lot about 18th century dentistry today.
Trust me: you probably don't want to know too much.

Word Processing inalterably changed writing half a century ago. It's practical to not allow wholly-generated AI works. But there will be (and probably already are!) good AI-aided stories and there will be (plenty of) bad ones. Just like there are plenty of bad human-only-made stories right now.
20.12.2025 14:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How about when I use NotebookLM to summarize my research about a particular moment? Is that disqualifying? How about when an author dictates a sentence? What about when Grammarly suggests a comma? Or spellcheck fixes a typo? We live in a cyborg world where technology enables us all the time.
20.12.2025 14:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You can't use AI to help figure out a plot point? Polish your writing? Fix your grammar? Do research? We hire human beings to help us with these things all the time. Is it disqualifying to have a human editor polish your work?
20.12.2025 14:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've been researching and writing my historical fiction novel for 8 years. Yesterday, I learned a major piece of background *by accident* that absolutely changes a major character.
If I would have been a faster writer, I would've published years ago...and have been very wrong. #histfic #writinglife
That's a really interesting use of AI. How are you doing that? What's the prompt?
