I cannot fault her logic there, she got some ice cream cake.

I post on Instagram where I’m mostly followed by a few friends and cross post to Facebook for some distant family.

But they’ve recently been giving me breakdowns on how my posts are doing engagement wise.

I’m not trying to be an influencer, I don’t give a shit about those numbers.

It’s August, which means it’s time to send my yearly potiental Christmas schedule and budget for travel to @mithradatesvi.bsky.social

All in an excel sheet with tentative daily schedules, accommodation options, and food budgets.

As a kid I honestly just thought that was a label stuck on there.

But also fuck that noise.

On vacation we are taking a sightseeing train, and apparently made it a little too much of it to the little ones.

Both Little Bit and a nephew were VERY disappointed when we got to the city and pulled into a hotel instead of a train yard.

Today is the start of our family vacation this year. It’s a 4 hour drive. So we don’t need to leave for another 2 hours at least.

But my car is 90% packed and I’m having to physically stop myself from just leaving now!

Little Bit understands the concept of charging cables, and she likes to be a helper.

Last night as we were getting ready for bed she told me “Mama, I charged your game controller because I’m a helper”

Which I forgot about until I this morning when I found the following:

It is true, I love Mamma Monkey Smash! It is so much fun 🤩.

I feel like when I was pregnant there wasn’t very much fun maternity fashion.

And if there isn’t any maternity lines based on Fantastic 4 I will be very disappointed!

How would that even work? Like at least 1/3 of them used the same exact red?

I was somewhere looking at paint 4 years ago and there was an “official NFL color match chart” and all of the reds were the same red, which was also the Super Mario Brother red color I was looking for.

Little Bit told us last night that her best friend at school (R) wants to be someone else’s best friend.

She is pretty shy, and has trouble connecting with the kids other than R. And there is no Daniel Tiger song that I can sing to help her through this social situation. 😞

Yeah. Since I didn’t really know what I needed I just got 3 yards, which is actually enough to do a double circle skirt for a 3 year old!

On our vacation I made a point to find an apparel fabric store since all we have around are quilting stores, and Little Bit wants to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween.

I found a great red and while polka dot fabric and asked if that would work.

“but that’s not PINK!”

Ok so we are doing Bow-Toons!

We went to a small local amusement park with Little Bit tonight. (When I say small, 7 total rides.)

They had clearly hired a local artist to paint the cars on the tiny roller coaster.

I asume the conversation went somthing like this:

“I can do a great Yoshi, so how about a Mario theme”

Little Bit is going to be in a local Christmas commercial for my parents’ store tomorrow. She is very upset that she has to be a red and green Christmas Elf, instead of a yellow Christmas Elf.

“But elfs can be all sorts of colors!”

I WFH so have a ip adress phone connected up to my work’s network. Which is technically a land line. I like having it just in case during off hours.

But also my sister recommended getting a landline when we start having babysitters, because “it’s a phone that you can always reach your kids on”

I was also going to suggest thrift and Estate sales!

At the framers market this morning the fresh cherry tomoatoes caught Little Bit’s eye. She ran up to the booth and grabbed one and just started eating it.

I laughed and said “I guess we are getting a pint”

And the farmer said “honestly that one is on me just for her reaction”

We bought a pint.

Homemade curtains for a pre-schoolers room. The fabric had a black background with white circles featuring all (I think) of the original 150 Pokemon characters.

Curtains!

Sometimes the easiest projects are the most rewarding.

Little Bit got to chose her fabric.

Two hems and two casings later, out with the Mario, in with the Pokemon!
