If the UK government (and the other three non-US "eyes") are not preparing for the worst now, they're probably negligent.

What Is a Circuit Breaker in Trading? How Is It Triggered? Circuit breakers temporarily halt trading on an exchange when a security or broad index moves in excess of a pre-set threshold amount.

Given that Dow Futures are down 1000 points (2.3%) and the S&P plunged 3.5% and will probably get worse when trading opens, perhaps a small refresher course is in order.
