Caught this migratory cutie stopping by the Farmstead.
White Crowned Sparrow in western Wisconsin. I would say double the size of the regular Tree Sparrow.

Recognizing a pattern in my life. Whenever I take a shower, I reflect on how I should have taken a shower a few days ago. I likely have dried afterbirth caked somewhere and I still pick hay from my undergarments.🤷 Thankfully summer forces my hand as I can't sleep sweaty.

San Clemente Island goats!
Bob gets a bonus birthday celebration. Two new San Clemente Island goats were born today. Meet Big Ed and Nadine. Congratulations to EB Ranch Eartha for birthing these sweeties. San Clemente Island goats are critically endangered.
I'm looking at the community at large to help with this project. Being able to secure and safeguard these genetics will take a load off my heart and brain. I appreciate any help!

All of these projects ultimately help conserve and promote genetic diversity in this critically endangered breed.

And secondly raising money to purchase up to three higher Tepper Line San Clemente Island goat does.
Some semen will be immediately available for breeders to use at a fair price. And some will be donated to the SCIG BA for long term storage and safe keeping.

Also, being active in my community has always been a "thing". It's become trickier to navigate in some ways. But I'll continue doing my damnedest to support the people in my rural community that I care about. Also! The Daily Yonder is another good publication that helps widen perspectives.
