I've had the Animaniacs Lake Titicaca song in my head all fucking day.

On the one hand I want to hang it in my studio so I can look at Loot while I play Loot on stream, but on the other hand I want it in my office because that's where I spend more time these days (plus that's where plush Loot lives).

Arguably I've put more hours into Turtles in Time, both in the actual arcade, the SNES port, the Switch ports of both versions...

Incidentally, if you get MeTV Toons (which is available over the air in some US markets or as channel 1736 on Xfinity/Comcast in all US states) they have blocks of the 1987 series in regular rotation.

Which is how I know it aged like fine milk.

(In case it's not apparent, Ninja Turtles is one of my Special Interests™.)

(I haven't watched Mutant Mayhem/Tales yet, I cancelled all my streaming services before I got a chance, but as dyed in the wool Donatello fanboy what little I've seen of that incarnation makes me smile.)

Other than the time travel season, the 2003 series was way better. The 2012 Nickelodeon series was also great, and I loved their spin on Kraang/the Ultroms. I never really got into the 2018 series (Rise) despite giving it a fair shot. Something about the tone never clicked for me.

But FFS people do not give in to nostalgia and try to rewatch the 1987 series today. It has NOT aged well.

Hell, I still replay the original Game Boy Fall of the Foot Clan as one of my comfort games. (Thank God it got ported to Switch as part of the Cowabunga Collection so I can stop running it through the Super Game Boy Adaptor via my SNES to play it on the TV.)

I think I'm gonna pull a Doctor Who and build a fully self-contained Ninja Turtles deck because it was such a defining part of my childhood.

I fully blame TMNT for my growing up to be a furry.

So since I was already in the car, and my parents had sent me a Valentine's Day card with a Dunkin gift card, I decided fuck it, we roll. I just dropped the car for an oil change and walked next door for a giant iced coffee and a vanilla iced with sprinkles to snack on while I wait.

I was on the way to the post office to see if I could pick up my mail since I haven't gotten any in the last two weeks (because my neighbor's plow guy buried my mailbox from the street side), only when I got to the top of the hill all my mail was waiting on top of the mailbox in a bundle.

I got my federal tax refund today which, thanks to my terrible interest rate on my mortgage and astronomical property taxes, was over $10k.

This means I can pay back my parents *and* cover both March and April mortgage payments.

In other news I had a toasted english muffin for breakfast this morning with some of the leftover lime curd from my birthday cake adventure and limes are proof of God's love.

(For the record the laptop is a refurbished 2019 model I got for $250 and the 65" touchscreen was free.)

Today in Kaburi's First World Problems:

I forgot to put the stupid stylus for my POS convertible laptop in the charge hole last night, so now if I want to scribble on Excel sheets I have to get out of the warm bed and go downstairs to use the 65" touchscreen TV.

Loving being both totally exhausted and also totally unable to fall asleep.

Y'all, it's very affirming to have a company approach me unsolicited about a job based on my industry connections and LinkedIn profile.

The dumpsters in the alley out back really open, and yes, there's a trashbag in one of them.

The whole thing started with the little eight brick espresso maker idea. Then I made a coffee grinder.

Other hidden elements that I love: the under counter fridge with two kinds of milk carton, and the assorted baked goods in the display case. The trays in the bakery case actually slide out!

My favorite hidden feature is the actual toilet in the bathroom! (I had to hide one of the walls to get a render that would show it.)

I'm ridiculously proud of this Lego coffee shop concept. The roof lifts off and the front wall hinges open for access, and the shop interior is three separate sets that connect together.
