Anyelo Jose Sarabia Gonzalez was living in Texas with his two sisters when ICE detained him without warning during an asylum check-in on January 31. The reason? While living in Arlington, TX, Anyelo got a hand tattoo that most teen boys would think was “cool”: a rose with $100 bills instead of petals. On April 4, Anyelo turned 20 inside the walls of the CECOT mega-prison alone.

ICE’s $30 billion budget is larger than most militaries. In July 2025, Trump signed the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” into law, handing ICE an additional $30 billion per year to carry out his mass deportation agenda. Even before this surge in funding, ICE was already out of control, routinely violating people’s rights and putting lives in danger. This new budget paves the way for even more abuse, disappearances, and family separation.

Iran building a nuclear bomb to defend itself against countries like the US and Israel would be perfectly understandable. Its treatment of women and gay people is a much bigger issue.
