Another busy weekend meeting great people across #IL16! I met with folks in Streator and the next night had the opportunity to speak at the Bureau County Dems' annual John Mitchell Dinner. We're already building great momentum and it's really just begun! Thank you to all of our hosts this weekend.

Great weekend in Bloomington-Normal with Andrea & the kids—huge thanks to McLean County Dems!

Friday was ice cream & good convos. Saturday’s BBQ & Bags raised $7.5K for local races-proud to support.

We also showed the kids our Alma mater, ISU.

Grateful for a family that’s all-in on this journey.

Huge thanks to the Lee County Democrats for inviting us to join the Dixon Petunia Festival parade!

Great turnout, many cheers, and tons of positive energy.

We just missed the storms but our kids left with a huge candy haul and big smiles.

Grateful today for the working people who built this country. As we celebrate our rights, let’s remember the work still needed to protect them. It’s inspiring to see so many re-engaging in democracy. Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful Independence Day.

I have not been very active on BlueSky but I am committed to engaging more going forward.

Here is my initial reaction to the announcement that U.S. House of Representatives has approved the budget bill which will be signed by the President later today.

LaHood’s pushing a false choice: support his bill or face tax hikes.

But his plan gives 65% of the benefits to the wealthy, cuts Medicaid, slashes food aid, and adds > $3T to the debt—all to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

We deserve better. #IL16 #ProtectMedicaid
