Theres a cafe in my city we found by going to Ihop and the hostess was quitting soon. We loved her personality and only went to see her mainly. She told us about a small breakfast/lunch place down the street. Never heard of it before. Well, we've now been loyal customers for some 6 years now

Exactly this! Finding activities and hobbies that you just enjoy doing is the best. It's a bonus if you're very good at said hobby, but it's not required. Took me many years to realize I can have fun being just ok at something and not need to become obsessed with mastering everything.
