Page 292 in Tisha Mark’s law dictionary. My hand holds my law dictionary opened to a page with a charcoal sketch of a nighttime seascape study. Words on the page are partially visible underneath a thin layer of gesso and sketch. On the windowsill at the top of the photo is a coffee cup, piece of charcoal, a tiny piece of conté crayon, an eraser, and a vase with a cutting from a jade bonsai plant that I’m hoping will start to grow roots.

Sketching a lot today. Working out next steps in a large seascape nocturne painting that I have on my easel.
