It must be difficult these days to be a fact checker on Trump speeches. I know I’d never be able to keep up with the lies. Here’s a moment from today’s breakfast remarks:

Johnson is one of those “welfare queens” Republicans are always bitching about: Barely working, complaining about the work, cashing in on the public dole! Either do your job, or . . .

The older Cuban-American block has long trended Republican. They don’t consider today’s Latino/Hispanic immigrants on the same level as themselves. Many younger members of that group have forgotten about “wet-foot/dry-foot” If Trump had been prez in 1995, he’d have deported them all!

I agree; short stories are woefully underrated. There are great ones to be read!

Literacy professors (like me) have been preaching this for years. But why listen to us? We’ve only spent the most of 20 years or so studying the issue. So much better to rely on the expertise of textbook companies & Moms for Liberty. The decline in college students’ literacy abilities is palpable!

Did any evidence point to another suspect in the woman’s killing? Or did anything later come to light? This is a horrible story, first and most obvious because of the way Mr. Neal was brutalized but also, someone who raped and murdered a woman went free. Justice was denied for two innocent people. 😢
