Just felt a second morning earthquake in Oakland this week.

I don't know how 2025 will go but I want to continue these good habits I have built for myself into this new year and all the ones after.

And thank you if you actually read this entire thing and baring with me through one of the very rare times I talk about or post pictures of myself on here.

I grew out my hair, ended a relationship, got into grad school at UC Berkeley and moved to a new city all in the last year.

Not sure if these were the right decisions but they are the ones I made. I live in Oakland now and I've never felt more at home, more free, or more myself than I ever have.

I’ve never been one to make New Year’s resolutions but I had some goals for myself. I wanted to read more, I did, 45 novels last year. I wanted to get back in shape, and I did, losing over 50 pounds or 20% of my total body weight and I workout every day now.

So I’ve always thought the idea of “New Year, New Me” was always kinda bullshit. But looking back over 2024 I think it applies to me for once.

This looks like an unsually seismically active day in Humboldt — nearly two dozen earthquakes. It started with a magnitude 7 then a lot of 3-4 mag shakers afterward.
