Just said "goodbye" to a couple of lines that introduce a major plot point in the novel I'm writing, a plot point that I proceeded to immediately forget and carried on forward as if it were never there.

And, now, it never was.

The Creeper was mostly designed by Ditko, his main writer was Denny O'Neil, writer of the famously politically charged but more left-leaning Green Arrow/Green Lantern series. That said, his first hero mission (plot outlined by Ditko) was saving a scientist from communists. To be fair, it was 1968...

The very same, though I misremembered. Ditko made Creeper for DC. A DC fan will still recognize several Charlton characters that Ditko made for conservative (or at least right-libertarian) political stories. DC later bought their rights and retooled. Watchmen starred them until Moore shifted to OCs.

Not for nothing, but wasn't Steve Ditko a Randian Objectivist who wrote Peter Parker as openly contemptuous of student protestors and created the Charleston Heroes like Question and Creeper to promote right wing politics, the source of Moore's clear contempt for them via their expies in Watchmen?

Do you tell people who play sports to simply practice harder so they never miss? Spelling and grammar checkers help the revision and editing process. A second set of eyes is useful, and digital tools can be that if you can't afford to pay editors and don't want to exploit friends for free labor.

I've gotten a lot of use out of Grammarly the last few years despite its flaws. All the other editing support tools I've tried suck, and it's far better than Word's features. Even after they integrated AI, I just didn't use those tools. If the AI is now ruining its original functions, that's tragic.
