Popping up across Brooklyn... All of the people featured in the windows are Black people.

J used it not just for piano (which he started on) but also viola and trombone (which he's pursuing professionally) and I always loved how it seemed to be different for each: in one case coaxing, in another assisting, and in yet another a counterpoint almost.

I find them very soothing.

I didn't need more reasons to love NYC's Port Authority-clean, safe station; friendly employees; clean bathrooms so well kept]; great location) but their newest addition to their various stores is Le Cafe Coffee which makes a great London Fog (my fave). #portauthority #nyc #nycportauthority

Show #2. Mostly here for #RachelDratch . Up mezzanine but first row with great view and amazing leg room.

This was my first time at The Shed in NYC; what a nice venue. And the Griffin Theatre is a small initimate one with stadium seatinf so there's honestly no bad seat (though, again, totally do not regret my third row center. I'll have to go back and check but IIRC my ticket price was really decent).

Other points: I will keep an eye out for Lee Braithwaite from here on out-his teenage character's over the top moments could have been played just for laughs but he brought a believable teenager's confusion of dealing with too much emotion and not enough understanding about it that elevated them.

First of doubleheader in NYC today done. Just brilliant. The whole cast was great. Emma D'Arcy and Tobias Menzies were perfect counterpoints with her character's raw fragility and his checkin intensity. Third row center was definitely the way to go.

This is the song that @wxpnfm.bsky.social played 18 years ago(!) from the Perkasie album that made me hunt down a copy of the album at the time (thankfully at the local Tunes shop which carried a lot of independent and local area artist CDs at the time!)

Also I made the mix over a year ago & still haven't released it into the wild i.e. sent it to who it's intended for. I love the mix so much I'm afraid how I'll feel if they don't love it with same fervor I do. (If you're a lifelong passionate mix tape maker you know exactly what I mean.) #mixtapes

I have this rule that I save songs I love for a truly special "mix tape"b/c once I use a song in a mix I never use it again (I have very strict "mix tape" rules!) It's taken me 18 years to finally let this one be part of one (on what I think may be one of my top 5 in 40 years of making mixes.)

I think I'm only person who owns this CD .I bought it after hearing a different song from from it on @wxpnfm.bsky.social years ago. They disbanded soon after I believe; the album remains one of my all time favorites. This is a song I love to sing along to in the car

We all actively try to help each other lessen the grip these traumas have on us, realizing we all have to work on this together (it's taken years and also losses of all our parents (mine/my sister's, my husband's, and my brother in laws in the space of ten or so years) to get to this realization).

We have so much generational trauma in our family and then lucky us (sarcasm) my sister, my husband, my brother in law, my niece and my son have each had our own personal ones before we were even 20 so that's a LOT of trauma. (And I don't throw the word around lightly; I mean literal life & death).

I took my niece to #hadestown as a last minute-ish decision made last week w/ both of us having a really hard time dealing w/ the events in #iran in addition to here. Also this weekend unfortunately was the anniversary of two completely separate traumatic events for us both #trauma #ptsd

Omg I just realized our Hermes was an understudy: Max Kamangai. I thought he was the regular because someome else I knew had just recently seen him. Had no idea Kurt Elling was still the official Hermes. He was genuinely the best Hermes I've seen next to Melanie La Barrie (original London cast)

For reference, I've seen the show four other times with exceptional casts (om Broadway last Spring, twice with the touring company [different casts] and the original London cast). Honestly I wish they'd do a proshoot of this cast. #hadestown

Took my niece to see Hadestown on Broadway. Everything being said about the current cast is true. The give leads are phenomenal. Jack Wolfe has spoiled me for Orpheus forever. He brings perfect new gestures & facial reactions to the role. His voice is insane. #hadestown @bethinsac.bsky.social

At this rate I'm going to become a raging alcoholic before March. I have consumed more alcohol since Jan 1st 2026 than I did in the last 5 years& that's definitely saying something given all that happened during that time including my dad dying at the height of Covid. #iran #usa #worldisburning

She was technically his first concert in 2006 for at the WXPN annual music festival tho' L was walking around w/ him outside the pavillion while I was listening to the set. I did play her debut album all the time his first year (it came out three months after he was born) so there's history. πŸ˜„

Last week we went to a local record/CD store & his searches/purchases were Genesis (Peter Gabriel era), Labi Siffre, Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Nilufer Yanya, Zuchu (couldn't find), & one of Machaut's works. He is coming to see Brandu Carlile with me in two week, tho'!
