I really can't say, that entirely depends on the state of your local gun stores, but hopefully you can find one with some models you've been curious about.

I'm not sure what you mean by swapping the lens - that's not really a thing. The nitrogen purging will be ruined unless you can re-purge.

All that said, I have zero experience with their optics, so I really, really cannot say, but again, I'd go with more trusted brands when they're so commonplace.

On the other hand, I do think the hate they get is absolutely blown out of proportion from one or two stories that get passed around like other companies don't have defects either. They're just mid and not even the best of mid imo, but perfectly serviceable.

I actually did a review on the Odin Mini. At the time, I thought it was pretty impressive with its output. That said, there's some junk features like the step-down and the pressure pad operation that I just am not a fan of in hindsight. You'll always do better with a comparably priced Streamlight.

I write this in memory of Philando Castile and every other person who was ever trampled by this terrible machine. We can't bring you back, but we must break the cycle.

There is much work to be done, but I know we can do anything if we as a people can keep our empathy and integrity intact and aligned with a refusal to stand idle.

That doesn't mean it should ever be normalized, nor should the attitudes of people who would trade the well-being of us all for power without accountability. All of this is connected.

I will not insult your intelligence - I think everyone knows that something is deeply wrong here, and the scarier thing is that it has been for centuries.

But it is up to you to sit in the discomfort of this reality and do something about it beyond naively waiting for another election cycle to pacify this urgency with nothing else to show for it.

People of color have been trying to warn so many of you that what is coming for us all has been on their backs for generations now. I say again - this is nothing new.

I think a lot more are finally waking up to this reality as a result, amidst a secret police force that not only kills, but kidnaps our neighbors, throwing them into concentration camps in what cannot be described as anything but an "ethnic cleansing" campaign.

To see the same dynamics play out again over the likes of Alex Pretti in this repetitive washing machine of atrocities is incredibly exhausting to say the least. Many, myself included, are yet again outraged by what is not an "incident" but a pattern. A history of privilege versus control.

I saw many gun owners muddy the waters in their death by a million footnotes and their inability to empathize with the killing of a black man, refusing to acknowledge the systemic threat right in front of their very eyes.

There was silence among so many of the loudest voices in the firearms space when it comes to "our rights" (whose now?).

Many were rightfully outraged, court was held, but nothing brought Philando back from the dead - the damage was done, as it had been to millions of people before him. The NRA couldn't help but remain passive.

Just outside of Minneapolis on July 6, 2016, Philando Castile was killed by police during a traffic stop while attempting to present his identification after informing the officer that he was carrying his permitted concealed handgun.

But this is a firearms education page, and on that matter, there is a piece of history not so long ago that is screaming at the forefront of my mind today.

It truly has been like watching a car crash in slow motion across my entire lifetime. None of this is new or surprising to me. How could it be? If I had the energy and time, I could write numerous books on how we got to where we are today.

I grew up listening to the experiences of indigenous and black voices who have continuously endured the worst since the inception of the plantation, its genocides, its slavery, its poverty, and its incarceration that march on through history to today.

I spent over two decades trying my best to warn people of the ensuing dangers of imperialist gambits abroad coming to roost with militarization and repression here at home.

I grew up with a sinking feeling watching wars rage abroad while the Patriot Act passed at home. Cycles of carnage through drone strikes to police brutality.
