Oh! This answers my question about the pronounciation of <q>! If I said [qu] 'snake' instead of [xu], I assume lashunta would most likely interpret it as a strong version of qabarati [ku]!

I love the hanakan. They're magical velociraptors (I love dinosaurs) settling conflicts with rap battle cock fights that in some cases end in incoherent chicken screeching. That's awesome.

The feather crest and plumage are derived from the hoopoe's (the name of which I find really funny since I learned it researching feather crests for this idea).

I reformulate: If I were a damaeas, spoke Lashunta and pronounced "tiquneva" with a "q" like the sound the letter stands for in the Arab language, would that be a speech impediment, a misponounciation or the property of some Lashunta dialect?
