The Zero Leprosy Strategy focuses on more than treatment.

It prioritizes early detection, prompt treatment, prevention of disability, inclusion, and the protection of dignity.

Eliminating leprosy requires strong health systems & communities free from stigma & discrimination.

Early leprosy often presents with subtle signs, including skin patches, and nerve involvement.

Stigma fuels fear and silence. Silence leads to late presentation. Late presentation results in delayed diagnosis, nerve damage, and lifelong disability. Stigma has clinical consequences.

Leprosy remains a global public health concern.

According to WHO data, most newly reported cases continue to occur in South-East Asia, the Americas, and Africa. This highlights the need for sustained global commitment, early detection, and equitable access to care.
