Section 230 of the Communications Act is one of the most important laws shaping the internet. Passed in 1996, Section 230 shields online platforms from being held legally responsible for what their users post, while also giving them the freedom to moderate content.

This is clearly a violation of the First Amendment. This is a government official directly demanding the censorship of speech he dislikes.

He also does not understand section 230 at all.
