Shocking news. You could knock me over with a feather.
05.11.2025 02:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0RIP Ralph Senensky -- director to 6 (and a half!) Star Trek TOS episodes. Read this great blog post he wrote in 2021 about this time at Star Trek.
01.11.2025 22:03 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Agree!
01.11.2025 21:24 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As long as I'm recommending tech videos that came out today, Veronica Explains has a great video about eliminating streaming. I also don't use streaming services. I haven't tried everything she's recommending, but I can definitely second her recommendation for Jellyfin.
01.11.2025 21:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Action Retro has a great video today about revivifying old Macs with Linux. I've done this twice myself and it works great. It's a wonderful way to use your 10+ year old Mac. @actionretro.bsky.social

31.10.2025 21:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I enjoy how Kayshon is specifically Picard in the "Darmok" jacket.
31.10.2025 00:02 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This could legit just be an episode of Muppet Babies. They were in and out of other shows all the time.
31.10.2025 00:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Number go up.
29.10.2025 05:20 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Our trash can was full of these when I was a kid. We got a disc in the mail several times a week, it seemed like.
28.10.2025 23:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love the occasional Worf episodes that have nothing to do with Klingons.
26.10.2025 03:45 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0My best guess is "Miri" and "The Devil in the Dark."
25.10.2025 17:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Corbomite Maneuver famously has tranya. And Kirk goes to a party at the beginning of Conscience, somebody must eat or drink something there.
25.10.2025 17:40 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's interesting the direction this has taken. I was hoping to suggest (circuitously) that any enjoyable thing could be made more efficient by removing the enjoyment, therefore efficiency is undesirable beyond a point. Instead we're trying to justify enjoyment in terms of efficiency.
24.10.2025 19:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I ride my bike to work every day and I really enjoy it, but it'd be hard to argue it's an efficient way of getting there....
24.10.2025 03:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sorry, Rios punching the ICE agent is the most important moment of Picard S2. Agnes is definitely second.
24.10.2025 01:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Philosophical question: Is it possible for something enjoyable and to also be efficient, or are enjoyable things inefficient by definition?
23.10.2025 20:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0DON'T DO IT JIM YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR.

Almost everything everybody does is imitation. It's "monkey see, monkey do" with us humans. ....
22.10.2025 13:47 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Stop being so dramatis! ;-)
22.10.2025 13:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Almost everything everybody does is imitation. It's "monkey see, monkey do" with us humans. Put an imitative primate in a digital echo chamber and you get a feedback loop. It's happening to all of us -- it only depends which echo chamber we choose and how long we stay in it each day.
22.10.2025 13:32 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I doubt it, and also I hope not. DS9 had a great ending and it's over now.

20.10.2025 21:28 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I guess there's a setting for it. (In my defense, I only use Windows at work. I'm no expert.)
20.10.2025 21:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My favorite is how every tab in File Explorer says "C:\Users\Adam\Documents ..." then cuts off.
The tab isn't big enough for the whole path, so you can't tell which tab is which. Microsoft could easily fix it by putting only the folder name on the tab. Instead tabs have been useless FOR YEARS.
General Chang sure had a way with words.
