I can't overstate just how much of a disinformation weapon X has becomeand it's being targeted at trans people in particular. A 6 year old video is going around being passed off as the shooter. Fake images are circulating like crazy along with outright genocidal language.

It's a feeding frenzy using this shooting as an excuse to go after trans people even harder. It's sickening.

BlueSky is built by default to be monolingual. And its traffic (over 50%) is dominated by English-speaking 🇺🇸 users. It's pretty dry outside that (really loud and self-absorbed) sphere. I've never been to the US.

Cherry on top, its translation tools feel like a second thought.

Seriously, I feel like this site is a tool for spreading US-centrism. I don't know what any of these are, and really don't feel like I need to care.
