We had a wonderful meeting this morning with members of the National Association of Women and the Law to discuss the legislative reforms needed to better support survivors of family violence!

Rosa Parks is a common figure brought up during Black History Month. However, Parks was also a passionate advocate for Black women who were survivors of sexual violence, working to help victims navigate a judicial system permeated by segregation and white supremacy.

In 1901, Mary Matilda (Tilly) Winslow became the first Black woman to attend the University of New Brunswick. In 1905, she graduated at the top of her class with her BA in Classics and was awarded the Montgomery-Campbell Prize for her academic achievements. #BlackHistory #UNB #BlackWomenInHistory
