I think Chicago urbanists should stop arguing for less bus stops as a solution to bus speed issues, it is dumb and ableist.

Stops that are closer together make it easier for people carrying heavy stuff, or pushing strollers, or with disabilities to take the bus. Getting dropped off a bit closer to home at night for a solo woman also helps her feel safer. I wonder if any gender-based research has been done on the topic?

to elaborate: I like that the robots can replace car trips, but don't want it to be at the expense of pedestrians or cyclists moving easily and safely through the city

Losing the crosswalk from the square to Cara Cara Club makes me scream

I saw an alderman defer to a local park advisory council on if he should install pedestrian safety enhancements on a nearby street, which had been voted for in participatory budgeting. Like, how can a PAC of 10 people overrule hundreds who voted in PB?!
