Exciting news for Southern Illinois!

This week, the city of Carbondale celebrated the opening of the Saluki Greenway, a 2.4-mile stretch dedicated to safety, mobility, and active transportation. The new 10-foot-wide, ADA-accessible multiuse path provides a safer alternative to highway travel.

👉 Please slow down, increase your following distance, and give yourself extra time to get to your destination. Remember, the road conditions are much better behind the plow than in front. Give us plenty of room to make the roadways safer for you.

Rebuilding Illinois: New interchange opens at I-39 and U.S. 20/Harrison Avenue Diverging diamond design is eighth in Illinois, first in Rockford area

This project rebuilt U.S. 20/Harrison Ave, added a bike and pedestrian path, upgraded lighting, and improves traffic flow for 50,000+ vehicles daily — making the interchange safer and smoother. The DDI is Illinois’ 8th and the first in the Rockford area. Learn more: prez.ly/Hkkd
