It's a good thing my thread reviewing the books and critiquing nearly all the main characters isn't here. I would have been called a "fan". This fandom has always had an "I understand the books more than you do" attitude and I think the TV series affected the fun we all used to have in 2018/2019.

I'm still on my quest to find the novels I read in boarding school - I've forgotten them. We were a group that fought over novels including nicking them from under a pillow while the other slept. I reached out to one & I'm shocked that he stopped reading after secondary (not even uni) school. Shame.

Calabash gourd from West Africa with palm leaves at its mouth to keep the palmwine inside fresh

A plate of beef peppersoup and a gourd of palmwine - local 'beer parlor' (pub) delicacies in West Africa.

They are lovely. I never imagined them as an art form. I'm used to their utilitarian value - to transport and drink palm wine (edible yeast rich sap from the West African raffia and oil palm trees).

My grandpa used to make them for me and my brothers when we reached local drinking age - 10 years 😄

I’ve gotten a few more followers now, and I appreciate all y’all and your posts! Figured I’d show off my little gourd art collection 😘
