As a cis-het dude, I confess the particularly intense grief I've seen from queer folk in response to a lesbian woman's ending caught me off-guard. I thought this was an incredible final moment for Sophie to portray, honoring her Moiraine relationship - but I find my limitations and I try to learn.

I am not surprised about Suian, shocked in the moment, but I can see how it makes sense for the show. I know she has much more to do in the books, but we're more than a third of the way through the show (assuming 8 seasons, and only a quarter of the way through the books) - so, narrative cuts ahoy!

I do feel like they had to leave a bunch of stuff out - Tanchico in particular felt very rushed (oh! for 10 shows in a season! Why, Amazon? why?!)
I am delighted we got some Finn content, but my goodness, it was brief and show-only watchers must be WTF'd out, but I hope there's more to come.

I was nervous about the finale, of only because the last Two seasons ended with such a wump-wump for me. season 3 has been a different animal though, from the get-go and that finale rocked. It wasn't perfect, but it landed square in its feet.

The lack of spoiler discipline over in the Blight is crazy. I'm glad I'd watched the finale before having a wander through there to gauge the reactions. People just letting fly with unfiltered reactions, screenshots of certain huge moments... no tags whatsoever. Happy to be under #WoTSkies again!

#WotSkies it feels redundant to say at this point, but Ceara Coveney simply could not be better as Elayne. From the 1st scene in Egwene's room through to the Hills of Tanchico in full Scouse (& half-soused), she has been exquisitely perfect. This is her first role of real weight! I am in awe.

I just found her for this season's reactions, but she's one I am always looking out for now, and I'll be going back to watch her S1&2 reactions too. Very perceptive, able to give what I would describe as very considered insight despite reacting in real-time.
She deserves a ton more subscribers.

When Rand kills him in Falme, he welcomes death as a blissful nothingness - his sweet release.
So when he awakes as Moridin, in a new body, still tied to the Wheel and the DO's will, his dream atomised by the inexorability of his dark oaths, imagine how *unhinged* it makes him.
Rafe, make it so.

He was gentle with the little girl in the S2:1 cold open, rejecting the idea he was a monster. Ultimately his alignment with the Shadow was a philosophical one, born out of the widespread suffering he saw. And the "big dream" was freedom from the Wheel of Time, and for that he needed the Dark One.

Dana's speech about release from the tyranny of the Wheel is pure Ishy discipleship, and his approach to Liandrin as an abused victim is to offer help. Perhaps he would have genuinely helped Min with her visions...

"Ishy was a gentle soul with big dreams". (Thread)
I love that description by Lanfear, and in show-context it kinda rings true. His interactions with Rand in S1 (dreams aside) were coaxing him towards the Shadow, as if helping him towards his true destiny.

Natasha O'Keefe's Instagram image of her and Josha on the rock of Rand's dream, where a caption reads "Which team are you on? Lanfear or Eugene?"
#WheelofTime I love how, in this image from Natasha's Insta, she asks "Who's team are you on? Lanfear or Eugene?"
I'm sure it was an autocorrect error, but I like to imagine it's her inner-Lanfear coming through, pulling the classic "deliberately get her name slightly wrong to belittle her" move.

Ugh. How many times have I to tell YouTube, "Do Not Recommend"?
I don't care if you don't like the show (I certainly have had my complaints about it) but "here's my 23rd video about this 'unwatchable' show!" reeks of unbearable hate-grifting.

I assume there'll still be a chunk of a Tanchico storyline in S4. I can't imagine there's enough screen time available in the last 3 eps of S3, with Two Rivers and Alcair Dal still to come, for all of that to get wrapped up this season.

#WoTShowspoilers In the UK we have a phrase, "After the Lord Mayor's show", which is used whenever the next thing after a massive event inevitably suffers by comparison. I expected ep5 to feel a little flat after the spectacle of Rhuidean, but it was so good, so gripping, so joyful, so devastating.

We don't even have Taim yet. I don't think they should attempt it until season 5 and use season 4 to see the Black Tower and let it established itself. I know we're running out of road if we're only doing 8 seasons, but I think books 4-6 should get the most time out of all to do it right.

Ha. I'm not crazy about the choice to attribute all the Bubble stuff to Lanfear in truth. It could have been left as a BoE and still had the effect of scaring the EF5 away from Rand.
But AoL tech does make for a fine deus ex machina when needs be.

If a grown woman isn't getting spanked and then stripping down to their skin to undergo some cultural/institutional ritual/test, is it really Wheel of Time?
Also it's very distracting to have ladies folding their arms without some visual cue as to where their breasts are in relation to them.

I don't know how hard a magic system you can get via TV. I think structure hard magic requires needs the comfort of the page in which to stretch out.
I *do* wish WoT-show OP complied more overtly with book-canon OP, but then I'm reminded of how RJ would tell rule-sticklers to "go touch some grass".
