Yeah… people's attention span has been getting shorter for sure even before AI, and AI is only making it worse.
Still, I really want sites like FurAffinity to stay alive.
And honestly, I just hope Bluesky won't follow in X's footsteps in terms of toxicity and aggressive AI policies.
But we'll see…

In the old days, core membership was probably on sale once or twice a year. Now it feels like every other week there’s another half price core sale. It surely does feel like DA is getting desperate now...

It definitely has been years since DA started allowing all that stuff on their site
For me, the point where it really started feeling like they were pushing it was somewhere in late 2025. Before that, if you select suppress AI content in settings, they wouldn’t show you that DreamUp AI button at all

But based on the direction Deviantart has been going in recent years (scammers, AI spam, and even a built in AI image gen button you can only block with tools like adblock) it really makes me want to quit again.

Still, I kind of regret having deactivated my old account instead of just leaving it there.
Though I can still find my old page on the wayback machine, but none of the images load anymore.
Maybe I’ll re-upload all of my old work to FA Scraps someday.

I first posted my art on Deviantart around 2013 under the username SkyLine-Wolf.
Then I deactivated my original account around 2016 due to burnout.
And I got back to DA in 2019 under the username Wolf-SkyLine, and I’ve been using it ever since.

Heads up to artists still using Twitter- Twitter is now adding an "Edit image" button under all images posted on the site that allows everyone to feed it into genAI and modify it as they wish with a prompt

Hopefully I can pick them up again once I recover a bit.
I know I said I’d try to post more often this year. And I’m very sorry for being so inactive for all these month. I can’t guarantee I’ll just become more productive immediately after this post. But I’ll try my best.

I think I’ll try to draw and post more simple or relaxed stuff after this, Speedpaints, WIPs or even stuff like practice and study. But I still have a lot of relatively complex ideas in my head, I just don’t have the creative energy to tackle them right now.

It used to be about the fun of creating something, and the sense of accomplishment you get after putting in the hard work and finishing a piece, no matter what it is, simple or complex. Maybe that’s what really matters after all.

especially now that AI has gotten better and better at mimicking human art recently. At this point, I’m really starting to wonder why I even bother.I guess I kind of lost my motivation and forgot why I started drawing in the first place.

I’ve been trying force myself to come up with ideas involving more complex, story-driven scenes for posting , the kind of stuff AI struggled with for a long time. But sometimes it came at the cost of some serious burnout.

For all these years since AI image gen blew up at the end of 2022, I’ve been trying to avoid drawing or posting the kinds of stuff that are overly saturated by AI (like single-character shots with simple or not so complex or accurate background in terms of perspective .)
