Just left an ICE Protest in Portland OR that started at City Hall and marched to the ICE building. Main demand was "revoke" the lease that lets the agency use their building.

Crowd was 500-1000. They gassed massively after about an hour. Had to pull a lot of 16-17 year old girls out of the gas.

Many of the people complaining ARE a part of the community.

And they get tut tutted for speaking out or told that they’re being divisive to the community. Or “it was just a puppet show” or “that was years ago.” Or “I’m not supporting touché, I’m supporting the title and the contestants.”

A few months ago I asked someone about it and the response was “the people complaining aren’t part of the community anyway” and my response was “yes, and this is exactly fucking why”.

I’m sure this is going to piss people off, but until they address these issues too fucking bad. Bad optics.

The way Mr Chicago Leather had their event at Touché, even after years of accusations of being racist and exclusion, and lack of accountability or even addressing the “puppet” situation with action is one of the reasons the next generation is not joining the leather community.
