This lovely lavender, horses and fields cross stitch design was commissioned by Sophie. I loved working on this so much, from the vibrant sunset and clouds, the details in the grass and getting all that lavender just right.

I made this needle felted landscape about 3 months ago - It's something I'd always wanted to try but never got to. In this year of "I will complete craft projects" I ticked another off the list! This came together really quickly, and I think I'll try more in the future!

And a big shoutout to rsnstitchbank.org an absolutely fantastic resource and guide to all sorts of stitches to try if you are interested. Each technique has guides on how to create them in multiple styles and just so many options to pick from

A large wooden hoop is shown with an earthy linen fabric. Embroidered into it is multiple ribbon styled flowers in a variety of colours - blues, purple, pink, red, yellow and mint, with embroidered stems and leaves between them, consisting of a large variety of stitches including woven wheel, long stitch, closed fly stitch, feather stitches, raised leaf stitch, chains and many more, with seed stitches, lazy daisies and french knots filling the space between the features.

I went into this hoop with no plan & no pattern. I wanted to try ribbon embroidery for a long time and from there it turned into a hoop of experimentation. Some worked well, others not so much, but in the end I still had great fun, learnt a lot - and broke two needles in the process!

Two embroidery hoops are sat on a wooden table, they both hand black fabric. The left one features three styles of hanging plants, made of white and cream baskets, one made of hanging green plants made of many French knots, one with tall leaf stitch, and the third with hanging triangular leaves. The hoop is finished in a frameless style with a green ribbon above. On the right features some flowers with leaves protruding out from the flowers, one is white with French knot centres and three are dual blue colours with a pink butterfly above, it is finished in a blue flower patterned tape around a hoop with a blue ribbon above.

I completed these two embroideries! Some hanging plants and some flowers, gosh those thousand French knots were a whole challenge, but I love the look and texture of them so much. Enjoyed learning a few new stitches and my time on these!

I found myself with some hours of waiting on various trains this week, armed with a set of "Mini Marker Set" of six colours, so I tried my hand at some flower #illustrations! Despite some wobbly lines due to train wobbles, I like how these turned out! The second one was a small gift with a message
