Ok I looked at the article now & it’s a book promotion vehicle:

“This month he’ll get the ultimate songwriter’s compliment: the complete catalog of his lyrics, along with some poems and musings, from the 1940s until his death in 2003, in a single volume—black, of course, and beautifully embossed.”

The premise of the article is so silly that almost seems to be the point (to get ppl like me riled up)

The important thing to do — when you’ve written something pretty bad — is to send it to a friend straightaway — (so she can tell you so!)

I love the depiction of rapport & affection shared among these siblings — the sister grinning up at her older brother, their tangled hug, the brother’s leg raised up as if being half-carried or playfully fought with — as if they won’t stop their perpetual horseplay even for a formal portrait
