makes sense, from start to end of my teenage years I played Final Fantasies 7, 8, 9 and 10 as they came out. that kind of thing is gonna warp you into being dependably nostalgic if nothing else. if the only contemporary FF I got to play was 15? that couldn't warp me, I'd be normal and well adjusted.

Could have watched a Friday the 13th movie yesterday while folding laundry but ended up watching Frank Henenlotter's Bad Biology.

Between this, the console being RF only (and a very weak RF signal at that), and most of the cartridges having black & white labels, you can tell Atari were being cheap. Although I suppose that would make since with the 7800 originally being planned for release in 1984 during the American crash.

Getting the RF shield back on is annoying since the console has no screws to keep stuff secure inside. The top and bottom halves of the RF shield are held together by tabs on the bottom half that fit through slots on the top half, then are bent. The console then just fits snuggly back into the shell

Got some power switches for the Atari 7800 since mine had a faulty one that would only work if I pressed it in on the bottom left corner. It was an easy fix and I was able to get a rough date this console was manufactured which was around August 1988.

Aishe joined my party in DQVII R. It's nice to know I've been pronouncing her name incorrectly this whole time. Her name was Aira in the original, but with this and the 3DS remake, I assume Aishe's name was pronounced either ashy or a-she; but turns out it's eye-sha.

imagine being this beloved online and throwing it all away to do a crypto ad. absolutely pathetic lol

Being able to keep the skills in the PS1 version felt like a reward for all the time you spend grinding as you worked your way to the advanced vocations. Sure it made party members feel the same, but, I dunno is that bad? You want the skills and spells that do big damage numbers.

So that really forces me to balance vocations out now. I guess it makes each party member more special...? It just feels like a waste of time grinding these things when they just get tossed out immediately for the next one, so I can get to the advanced vocations.

Seems like I don't get to keep the skills I learn from mastering a vocation which is disappointing. I really liked that about the PS1 original.

With the whistle ability combined with the new auto-battle feature and vocational proficiency points, vocation grinding should be way less lengthy now.

So begins the vocation grinding in DQVII Reimagined. It started a little earlier in this version. I like that the party doesn't get costume changes for each vocation although the option wouldn't be bad I guess.

My sister is out if town, so I get to help take care of her rabbit. He's just a little timid guy, but let's me pet him.

The Pac-Man game is certainly a 3D platformer. Certainly not a good game by any means, but fine for the dollar I spent on it. Pac-Man sounds like Ash Ketchum but doesn't have the same voice actress.

This 2600 port seems to play pretty well and has music which is neat for a game on a console released back in 1977.
