True but given the results after oocyte vitri/warm I would say the disruption is below the damage threshold in the vast majority of cases #ESHREjc

Yes, I would agree that genetics and the ovarian environment would have a strong(er) effect.
I think cortical tension would be more a marker than something we would wish to affecr directly. #ESHREjc

And actually, I wonder, we know that GV is eccentrically positioned in the oocyte. Do we know whether its position relative to the follicular wall is conserved? #ESHREjc

In other words: stiffer ovaries > more pressure on the follicle > more pressure on the oocyte > molecular response at the oocyte cortex level? #ESHREjc

This is an excellent point. We now know that ovarian stiffness (in mice) is correlated with follicular biology (see works by @farnersamargant.bsky.social lab, for instance), I wonder whether the follicular environment effect on oocyte also includes the pressure of its fluid. #ESHREjc

On this, I am team pipette. It's not invasive, positioning by the embryologist and automated measure (think of the automated blood pressure band on the arm). The question is, as always, one of sensitivity and sensibility, still very much to be tested.

This year, the EF has been launched again. Approximately 30.000 Spanish residents have been selected in a representative sample of the almost 50 million residents.

What a nice and unlikely surprise to be part of the sample! 🤩 Love this opportunity to represent my demographic!

The Spanish Instituto Nacional de Estadística launches the EF, a national survey on fecundity.
The last one, in 2018 showed:
✅ 25% mothers had less children than desired
✅ 50% of men and women had delayed their reproductive project.
✅ 7% of men and women over 40 had undergone some ART procedure 🧪
