My Mum and her sister were polar opposites when it came to house clutter, I'm so thankful that we were the tidy ones. Dust in your brain?!? Never! My first ever school report said I was a 'scatterbrain' - I'll let you be the judge on that.

My Aunt's house used to be totally jammed with clutter when I was a kid. It used to stress me out every time we went to stay. You couldn't walk from one side of a room to the other without tripping over something.

There's an old Irish saying my Mum had on a fridge magnet. "May the wind always be at your back.." The thing is, in Ireland the wind is usually accompanied by horizontal rain.

This is a terrible admission, but as far as I can recall we've never had a real Christmas tree.😔

We might do it this year, but it comes down to what my Dad wants to do. We'll definitely put some lights on the front of the house and in the front window. It's a combined task with cleaning the thousands of leaves out of our gutters.

We haven't put the Christmas tree up for the last two Christmases. It's just not the same without my Mum here.

I've never been one for buying clothes, most of what I have are my brother's cast-offs or gifts. Which I really appreciate, because I have no fashion sense whatsoever.

I say that to myself all the time, but I still end up with loads of stuff that I think might be useful to hold onto. My father is a master at this - he has nearly 90 years's worth, plus some of his father's stuff too!

We're seeing the edge of a storm too. But there I was sitting on our brick weave driveway, scraping the moss out of the gaps with a knife in the rain and wind. Yes, I'm crazy.

That takes me back to my Uni days. Halls neighbour Lucy introduced me to that album. Good times...

I washed and vacuumed out my Dad's car last weekend - there's still lots of my Mum's stuff in there (gloves, spare reading glasses, etc). I want to clear it all out, but it's not really my place to do so.

That's outrageous! I hope their genitals catch fire...

They were just talking about that on the radio tonight. Especially the people discussing what to have for dinner on speakerphone while walking around the supermarket. Guess what? I don't care what you're having for dinner!
