Exactly. My gripe with people’s focus on “evidence-based practices” is there’s no such thing as context-free evidence. And the range of factors that can make implementing a strategy to fidelity ranges to accounting for disability to class size to “did everyone eat this morning?”

That matters.

Skittles representing the following loci: point equidistant from two given points, point at a fixed distance from one given point, point equidistant from two give lines, point a fixed distance from a given line segment.

Last week our year 13s started their conic sections standard by looking at loci through the medium of Skittles. Sadly, some Skittles did not make it out of the lesson. Thanks to Chris Collins for originally introducing me to this #NZ #maths #conics #Skittles
