panelists: Why have elementary students use AI? Young children already exposed to AI through Alexa, toys, media & creating mental models; we donβt want them to think AI is a magic box that's always right; instead teach them to break it; know limits so they donβt have to unlearn wrong models later

Example of Evaluating AI output: 1. students ask ChatGPT about elevator speech format & verify expectations; 2. ask it to write one for a presentation they had already drafted; 3. work in pairs, then groups to compare output; 4. read the best to the class. No one was completely happy with output.
