Thatโ€™s one of my favorite moments ever, Iโ€™m a high school science teacher who has to think quickly on my feet for 8 hours a day with teenagers who can literally say or ask you anything at any time, that was simply a perfect response

My son's mountain bike needs new brake pads and I've never replaced those before so I looked up the Amazon order to find the model number and noticed that we bought his bike in August 2022 for $227.99 (before tax). I looked up the same bike now and it's $473.92 just three years later. Insane.

I remember seeing the term "airborne AIDS" from an epidemiologist on Twitter sometime in late 2020 when I had already gone back to teaching in person, and as a Gen Xer hearing about AIDS all the time that really struck me as something we should be more worried about

Just added a new feature to most of the quizzes - pop-up periodic table! If your students happen to misplace their periodic table or you've activated tab-switch detection on an assignment, they can now use this instead. The pop-up calculator works alongside it, too! #chemed #iteachchem

Why solar power is the only viable power source in the long run Not only is solar more than capable of supplying all the worldโ€™s energy, in the long term it is the only power source that wonโ€™t fry the planet

"0.3 per cent of the worldโ€™s land area โ€“ yes, just the land โ€“ would be needed to meet the current energy demand from solar alone, which is LESS THAN THE CURRENT LAND FOOTPRINT OF FOSSIL FUEL INFRASTRUCTURE."

I've been teaching in person while wearing a mask every single school day since being sent back in as an "essential worker" in September 2020 and it really isn't that hard, you get used to it and you don't get sick. Guy's not going to have a long career when that brain fog really kicks in

About this Florida vaccine story:

When they were little - 1 yr and 3 1/2 - my two older boys, whoโ€™d had all their shots, got whooping cough.

We asked their pediatrician what wouldโ€™ve happened if they hadnโ€™t been vaccinated.

โ€œOh, theyโ€™d have died.โ€
