I personally never cared for the headcanon of Niffty having OCD just because I see contamination OCD so overplayed in media, but Baxter also having OCD that manifests differently from hers... that changes things I think. I'm imagining him going over his essays like 20 times.

Niffty having contamination/ cleanliness-focused OCD because a neat space eases her mind and Baxter having compulsions related to certainty and reassurance because his analytical brain drives him to focus on that which can be proven (checking and re-checking, counting, repetition)

Why must you do this to me? Making me ship them even harder than I already did, and at the same time, making them relatable to me as someone with OCD?? 😭 /positive

But now I worry about them encouraging each others compulsions...

It reminds me of how people immediately jumped to the conclusion that Mimzy was an offensive portrayal of a Jewish woman, only for Viv to say no, she isn't even Jewish, she's just a NY flapper who's supposed to resemble a hen. The antisemitic accusation said more about the accusers than it did Viv.

So it just doesn't make sense to me why people would think that making Alastor biracial was a last minute decision. Why can't characters just be biracial without people treating it as if their creator wasn't ballsy enough to just make them fully black? How is that mindset not racist?

Just sounds like more assuming the worst in Viv, and as if Alastor hasn't been one of her earliest Hellaverse characters conceptually. I remember forever ago during the pilot days, she said something about Dr. Facilier being an inspiration for Alastor. A black character.

I'm not a POC, so I understand if there is just something here I'm not getting, but I can't imagine it feeling very good for biracial people to have to see people talking about a biracial character like they "aren't black enough." Would that not feel invalidating?

Even the discourse about Alastor's skin has always given me a sour taste in my mouth. Have people just never met a white passing biracial person before? Or do they just not realize that's what they're seeing when they do because they're white passing? Or is it different because Alastor is fictional?
