How to live

Make money the right way, ethically and with integrity - always treating people fairly.

Then use whatever we make to live our personal life’s the right way.

Supporting others the way we were helped.

Its not hard

the "esc" key on a keyboard is a holdover from early-'90s personal computers. on some models it would dispense a can of escargot out of one of the unused drive bays. they put it in the corner so you wouldn't press it by accident because you only got three of them. i pushed it once and got grounded

Breaking the Status Quo A vision for a new WordPress era WordPress is at a crossroads, now even more clearly then when I wrote my previous post on WordPress’s roadmap. I had very much intended to leave this topic alone for…

It's clear the #WordPress world needs a change. So I wrote a post about exactly that:

Joost wants to "hold this community together" and I stand with him in that effort.

WordPress, and what should be on its roadmap I was reading Hendrik Luehrsen’s excellent post β€œWordPress isn’t WordPress anymoreβ€œ, and I decided I had to write more about this. I recently spoke at WordCamp NL about β€œThe missing features of WordPr...

It's clear that #WordPress is at a crossroads, whether we want it to be or not. As a result, it's good to talk about what it is, and what it should do, so, I wrote a post about that:

But on a more serious note, I think both can be true and it depends on what causes more anxiety: the fear of DIY or the worry of shoddy/shady workers.

But I do agree that the good ones (when you find them) are totally worth the $$.

Corollary: There's no better feeling than fixing something yourself, learning how simple (some) of these systems actually are.

Eliminates the stress of finding a "good" repair person, searching google, being dependant on their schedule/availability/rates, swearing when it breaks down 2 weeks later

K: "That's not how you calculate a royalty. That's how you set a ransom."

[good line, well-delivered]

K: Record shows everyone else is doing it. Mullenweg's speech --

J: That's not in the record because it was after briefing closed, so move along.

End of an era. So long to the original Kelowna Innovation Center, home to Okanagan Colab and where many of the OG Kelowna tech companies got their start.

A catalog shot of the VT-100 features a white-on-black monichrome monitor, a black monitor inset in a white case, and a black keyboard frontispiece and keys over a white keyboard case, set in a 70s warm umber backshot. The text, barely visible, features various forms of graphics characters, fonts, double-height lines, and inverse video; the 'digital VT 100' slogan appears case right.

Alright, so something I've been working on this week for funsies is mapping GPX files using
@statamic.bsky.social
and Leaflet. This was quite a high-def file so I'm going to need a way to de-densify it a bit (there are 2000+ coordinates in a 16km span)
