Diversity and inclusion being more embedded within the culture (not perfect, but lightyear from France for instance);

A good culture towards work (personal experience), Micro-managey environment were the exception not the norm; Not stuck in presenteeism

Varied & contained boroughs in London with their own identity; Strong cities outside of London; Massive wild preserved areas;

Old and new architecture are really well paired up;

Green public parks without that weird dusty gravel like many urban park have;

Press release:
"Discrimination against trans people must stop!

The recent decision of the UK Supreme Court (For Women's Scotland v Scottish Ministers), issued on April 16, establishes that legally, only biological women are recognized as women.

This restrictive interpretation of the law marks a worrying turning point in the recognition of gender identities and already has profound consequences for the rights of trans people.

The Football Association has announced a ban on trans women in women's football clubs starting June 1, 2025. This exclusion, justified by an alleged compliance with the new legal directives, deprives many trans female footballers of their fundamental right to play in the category that corresponds to their identity.

Nowhere in this Supreme Court decision is it stated that an entity, organization, company, foundation, association, or any other body has the obligation to exclude transgender people from any role or service; the FA has therefore made the deliberate choice to discriminate against transgender women.

We, the UK-and Ireland-based members of La France Insoumise (France Unbowed, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Rima Hassan's political party), strongly denounce this decision, which goes against the values we stand for: equality, inclusion, social justice, and the defense of LGBTQIA+ rights. This measure affects us even more because Fae Fulconis, a trans female footballer and one of our members, is directly impacted by this arbitrary exclusion.

We refuse to remain silent in the face of this injustice. We call on every allies to mobilize against this decision, and we will join each and every local and international initiatives fighting for the rights of trans people and for truly inclusive sports.

Football is a team sport. Equality is too."

Re: the sabbatical, what worked for my partner and I 2 years ago, was to just book the transport and planned around. As we grew more confident and saved, we’d book hotels etc.
It was stressful sometimes aligning work, especially coming back, but it worked out in the end & had a blast! 100% do it!

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)
