Another day, another Sound Transit Sounder delay. This morning it’s the 1504 cancelled for a mechanical issue. Which of course is my train. Guess I’ll spend some extra time standing here while they look for a train that works. Every board member should have to rely on these to get around.

Me: I need to get in a few minutes ahead of normal, I’ll catch the earlier train.
The earlier train: Nah, not feeling it this morning.

Just announced that someone hit the emergency brake button. Swell.

Well, looks like the thirst trap girls have arrived on Bluesky. Gained a half dozen followers today, all fitting a certain pattern of a random post or two and a fetching picture.

Hearing from station agents that the Sounder 1504 will be restored tomorrow. However, the 1519 is still going to be absent from the lineup, so don’t miss that 1517 when trying to get home. Waiting for @sound-transit.bsky.social to make some kind of official announcement.

We need a full explanation of these failures. I manage a program that supports transit commuters with essential jobs in the medical field and you are leaving them scrambling to figure out how to get to work. Absolutely shameful.

Yeah, this was not a fun notification to wake up to. Someone really screwed something up. I would definitely like a better explanation from them on this.

Good morning, @sound-transit.bsky.social. Would you care to give us all a little more detail on the “preventative maintenance scheduling” issue that shut down the majority of the S Line Sounder service this morning? If a late PM can cripple the entire system, there should be a better redundancy.

Hello Jim, product suggestion: Have scheduled remote starts stop after three instead of two. Didn’t drive anywhere yesterday due to the holiday and this morning in 25° weather, my Bronco refused to remote start. @jimfarley.bsky.social

I’m finally on a train home. I’m sure no one will mind if I have a little homemade #eggnog, right? Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.

One of my staff came through the office saying good morning to each and every person. “What’s this, a reverse Walton’s?” I asked. Confused blank stares all around with the exception of the one person older than me.

The real challenge getting home when you have to work on Christmas Eve is figuring out a Sounder train on Sound Transit’s decimated “holiday” schedule. Basically it’s a skip two, run one schedule. With the first train at 3:35. Already a bunch of us here, waiting and waiting some more.

It’s a Christmas miracle! The hour of random rain that wasn’t on the forecast when I left the house is happening AFTER I arrive at work. It usually decides to descend upon me when I’m walking from Westlake to SLU. #WAWX

Great, the 1517 Sounder just broke down so they had to dump us all at Tukwila. Now we have to wait for the 1519 which is just now leaving King St. So much for easing into the weekend.

I always called that Couch Class.

Welcome to the Hotel Flaviar. I feel like they’ve upped the game this year with the presentation. One carryover: the first whiskey out of the box is a banger. Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond. Strong vanilla notes, a little sweetness and spice. Lingering warmth after. Definitely would buy a bottle.
