Frontier agents can one-shot simple apps. Complex products still demand structure, testing, and security awareness. But the bar to start is dramatically lower, and the feedback cycle is faster.

Dialogue: Communicate with AI precisely; inputs, interfaces, and test cases.
Delivery Loop: Ship in small phases, review, and refine.

Vibe coding isn’t about skipping fundamentals forever. It’s about prioritizing outcomes when time and resources are scarce. The leverage comes from three skills:

Destination: Define the result, constraints, and acceptance criteria.

That pattern shows up everywhere. We over-index on how to make the map and under-invest in using the map to get somewhere. In software, the parallel is vibe coding: using AI to move from intention → working software without first mastering every layer of the stack.

Destination Over Map-Making: Why Vibe Coding Matters

In architecture school, my Topography class missed the point. Instead of showing us how terrain data could transform design, it trained us to become topographers. We learned production, not leverage.

Creating with AI isn't as effortless as it's hyped up to be. Vibe coding works wonders when mastered, but it's not for everyone.
It's not about the process or the tools. It's all about your talent and experience for getting code into production.

@kodebase.ai for over a 1 month now. All the code was AI generated, but carefully following my curated rules and processes. I'm so impressed with what I've been able to build with my team - me, Claude, Gemini and o3.

I've moved to a context engineering process based development, where instead of hard rules, you provide the agent a set of guides that allow them the flexibility to proceed, but following your processes and flows.

Leveraging linters/tools to create constrains, is the way to go, since it's impossible to guarantee 100% execution otherwise.

While building @kodebase.ai I noticed how it's easy to try and create static process, hard for LLMs to follow and execute with success.

@holdenmatt.bsky.social have a very good post about how he's working with multi agents setup. I've been doing this for months now. All model/software specific entry points (CLAUDE md, cursor rules, etc..) currently only point to my generic files.
