Opposition presidential candidate Venรขncio Mondlane met Mozambican president Daniel Chapo in Maputo last night, "to discuss solutions to the challenges that the country is facing," according to a lengthy statement issued by the presidency this morning.

Mozambique elections: No official results have been announced, but Venรขncio Mondlane is claiming to have won both the presidency and the parliament, while witnesses say Renamo has failed to come second in the legislative vote

If the election for the national parliament goes the same way as the presidential election appears to be, then Renamo will lose its position as the second largest party in parliament, with Podemos overtaking both it and the MDM.
