UNICEF is deeply saddened by the deaths of 22 people, including 5 children, in a bus crash that took place on the morning of Tuesday 25th March in the Cafumpe region of Gondola district, in the central Mozambican province of Manica. UNICEF sends its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. This incident highlights the serious toll of road accidents on children in Mozambique and underscores the importance of all efforts to improve road safety.

Este é o terceiro ciclone a passar por Moçambique nos últimos quatro meses. UNICEF receia doenças como a cólera, a diarreia e a malária, sobretudo entre as crianças.

Tropical Cyclone Jude Tears Through Northern Mozambique Near Coal Hub
Tropical Cyclone Jude made landfall on Mozambique’s northeastern coast in the early hours of Monday, bringing damaging winds and torrential rain near the nation’s main coal export terminal.
