The curiousity about Arsenal's Batlle interest is that, having signed Holmberg, it either means Arsenal are going to have to convince 1 of Fox or Batlle to be the LB or Fox may be leaving.

An observation in today's game between Arsenal and AS FAR was that it was a beautiful thing to see players playing in a hijab (hope that's the correct term).

I don't know how much they do for it but one of the best things I used to find for training for composure was less about on-the-pitch training but visualisation training, and calm, self-talk about what you will do.

Would be curious to know what work is done when emphasising composure in interviews

Whilst I think Chelsea didn't help themselves on Sat & gave Arsenal too much time & space, it wasn't to me as much that this space was new to us but more that it showed the value of composure to actually recognise & use that space.

Yeah I definitely am curious of the new contract arrangement there.

Yeah my follow-up suggests it's the most unlikely due to family reasons.

It might take her a while to find her best again but she's a profile and talent that can be better than most options up top in any case.

The former feels half-possible to me for a new challenge. Middle for a new challenge and just the financial issues I see mentioned but understand little about, the latter for a new challenge but feels unlikeliest to me due to family life if nothing else.

Curious to know who Arsenal Women fans would see as their choice if the club were to spend a huge sum of money on one player - with at least some feeling of it feeling "possible"

I was trying to ask others if this is meant to go mostly, if not all, to the club itself or if it's spread among the squad and staff quite a bit, do you know yourself?

Looking at our options tomorrow, I feel as though it might be wise to start McCabe off the bench just so we have a fresh fwd option

If Fox is fit, it would be tempting to start Holmberg at RB w/ Fox at LB, to maximise athleticism & options to attack.

Or Fox at RB & Hinds at LB for a "safer" bet.

I don't think it would be a bad pickup, but I think there's a bit of a sense of banking on her developing, and the "idea" of her.

I don't feel we can really afford to not go for some greater production consistency over an idea, but if we can add another with more record of "guarantee" then all good

Given Barca and Spain don't play her out wide though does make me wonder if she has enough game to be as effective and trusted as we'd like. Statistically her defensive numbers are very bad from what I can tell.

And her attacking numbers have dropped significantly the past couple seasons.

... And once a player with pace but greater ability was available in Pajor they have played her there.

I see a little similarity to Stina if we could have found that player for a cost we were happy with.

This is a huge simplification not meant to diminish/dismiss Salma's game

I think a certain amount of pace takes you quite far when others don't have it. And for a team of Barca/Spain's qualities I think someone with pace but less technical quality can find a place a lot easier than at other clubs, even to allow those behind to have more room to operate more effectively.

She's a player I do think can potentially take leaps, though. Up until just 2 yrs ago she'd never been full time & had 1 foot in athletics running the 400m for Spain. So she's quite behind on focussing solely on football each day.

But at the same time, that can also mean... it's too late.

But I feel she will be our main target because she is A) free B) of top pedigree in terms of club and country and C) with Less and Michelle as CFs, Salma offers the wide pace and the CF stretch option post-Stina so that versatile type is likely sought after, imo
