Of note is that the boxcar pic shows (just barely) the actual name of this mysterious livery - Oak Valley Auxiliary Line. Combined with Deforrest Forest Products and Acorn Agricultural, that's the 3rd fictional livery named for this game.

The house cars, all painted in the same orange livery. The boxcar, the stock car, and refrigerator car.

Now, the open-top cars, the gondola and hopper cars, also painted in the same orange with black dividing stripe livery.

Finishing off the Rolling Stock, the flatcar, the tank car, and the caboose.

Finally, a closeup of the water tower, coal tipple, and the best closeup I could find of the Diesel Switcher (An SW1500).

The steam locomotive from Traintown Deluxe, based on a Western Maryland H9. It's rather peculiar livery of purple with brass time gives it a very distinct look.

The F3A locomotive from Lionel Traintown, painted in the classic Warbonnet scheme of Red, Sliver, Yellow, and black.

And while we're on the subject of Traintown, I managed to retrieve these from one of the many mirrors of the original Traintown Site. I'll be posting these in batches.

There were definitely not enough sprites to make a complete landscape, and the floor tiles are pretty ugly IMHO. Still, a interesting look into what might've been.

So, I've been messing with the sprites @mkinst.bsky.social managed to extract from 3D Ultra Lionel Traintown. (Thank you!) Here's a VERY rough mockup of the beta kitchen sprites that were refined and finished for the Deluxe version.

Also, just to clarify, David did allow me to share his photos, I would not have posted them without his permission, it was one of the first things I asked him when I emailed him about them.

Presentlydean on April 3rd, 2024 online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted as sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes. and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other. there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well. i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.
