Every character will have parallels to another character somewhere. Some are just more well known than others.
Originally I had similar reservations with my characters just being human versions of Celestia and Luna

The expression is just so soft and caring

Let's be honest, the nature of actually making art is inherently exhausting. If we aren't here to support each other there is no way it any of us are going to be successful

Always stick with what you enjoy and feel is right for you.
If you follow a sort of trend to get more followers, those followers will only stay as long as you are posting similar content.

So it is better to slowly accrue those who like what you are posting in the first place

Yeah you don't need to be on camera, you could even have a png charater that responds to your voice.
But even that isn't strictly neccecary if you aren't feeling it
